Dr Hayley Murray

Dr Murray is a Lecturer in Rehabilitation in the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences. Her research interests focus on the management of orthopaedic and musculoskeletal conditions. She is passionate about designing, implementing and evaluating rehabilitation interventions that enhance function, support condition management, and enable people to maintain or return to physical activity and sport. She is interested in both the physical and psychosocial aspects of rehabilitation and has a special interest in the management of ACL injuries in paediatric and adult populations.

Dr Murray has experience in mixed methods research, clinical and feasibility trials, intervention development and evaluation, implementation science and knowledge translation.

Dr Murray is also a registered Physiotherapist and works at the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust. She is a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist in the Musculoskeletal Therapy Outpatient Department. Her clinical role helps keep her research closely aligned with the needs of patients and supports the application of research evidence in real-world practice.
