Profile
Dr Christof Leicht is a Reader in Exercise, Health and Rehabilitation at Loughborough University and a member of the Peter Harrison Centre for Disability Sport. His research focuses on improving health outcomes in people with disabilities and mobility restrictions, particularly those with spinal cord injury or reduced muscle function.
His work examines how exercise and passive heat interventions, such as sauna and spa exposure, can influence inflammation, glucose control and chronic disease risk. He is particularly interested in how temperature regulation and exercise responses differ in people with spinal cord injury, and his research has contributed to the development of evidence‑based exercise guidelines for adults with spinal cord injury.
