Profile
Dr Bryna Chrismas is a Senior Lecturer in Applied Exercise Physiology whose research focuses on improving female athlete health and performance across the lifespan, from recreational participants to elite and professional athletes. Her work centres on female health literacy, equipping athletes, coaches, practitioners, and sporting organisations with the knowledge and skills to better understand and address female-specific health in training and competition. Bryna works closely with athletes and their entourage to co-create evidence-informed education, resources, and practical strategies that support health, participation, and performance. She collaborates with international federations, national governing bodies, professional teams, and industry partners to translate research into practice and optimise athlete health and performance. She also contributes to research and applied projects focused on athlete health, safety, and performance in challenging environments, including heat and humidity, informing policy and practice across sport.
Bryna is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), an accredited Exercise Scientist with the Chartered Association of Sport & Exercise Sciences (CASES) and Exercise and Sport Science Australia (ESSA), and a certified Health Mindset Coach.
