Profile

Dr Asma Adnane is a cybersecurity researcher whose work focuses on building secure, trustworthy and resilient connected systems. Her research spans mobile ad hoc networks, vehicular and IoT environments, and the application of artificial intelligence to intrusion detection and risk assessment.

She is currently co‑leading a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) with Worldline Ltd., focusing on data governance and mobility‑as‑a‑service, supporting organisations in managing and protecting data across complex digital ecosystems. Her work combines technical depth with real‑world impact, enabling her to communicate cybersecurity challenges clearly to non‑specialist audiences.

Alongside her research, Dr Adnane is active in public engagement and STEM outreach, including initiatives such as Girls in STEM, and has contributed to international academic mentoring through the UK–Ukraine twinning programme.

Dr Adnane has provided expert commentary on cybersecurity risks during the shift to remote working to BBC News (live), the Belfast Telegraph, and publicly engaged with media on children’s online safety and cybersecurity awareness.
