Profile
Dr Aimee Mears’ research aims to understand the interaction between athletes and sports equipment using biomechanics and advanced data analysis techniques, with an emphasis on women’s sport.
Her work involves research on golf biomechanics and equipment design, examining how biomechanical and subjective measures can inform coaching, club fitting and equipment engineering for women golfers. She also leads studies into sports equipment and apparel for women, including work on post-partum biomechanics to support physical activity through improved physical design.
Aimee has worked extensively with industry partners including PING, adidas, Lululemon and CCM, applying biomechanics expertise to drive innovation across sports such as golf, running and ice hockey.
She has also featured as a guest expert on the Experts in Sport podcast, discussing golf technology, biomechanics, equipment fitting and coaching applications.
