Dr Hannah White

I am a Senior Lecturer in Psychology, and my research area focuses on mental health among young people, with a particular interest in disordered eating.

I have always been interested in this area, wanting to learn more about ways to help prevent disordered eating and support eating disorder recovery. A lot of my work has focused on exploring family mealtimes (hence the cutlery!), which is a topic many people can relate to, so it always sparks interesting conversations.

My research helps to promote understanding of the different emotions and experiences related to family mealtimes, and the different ways families interact in relation to eating, body shape and weight, and physical activity.
