I’m a multi-disciplinary researcher interested in creative arts, health, wellbeing and mindfulness. I also have a keen interest and background in tech related industries as well as the NHS.

I have always been attracted to both Arts and STEM subjects, seeing STEM as another facet of human creativity.  In deciding what subject to study at university I chose Business Studies as that seemed a bridge between the two, following that up a few years later with an MBA at Loughborough.

My continuing interest in STEM led me to work in a variety of STEM related fields, whilst my continued interest in Arts led me to develop a creative practice which includes, amongst other projects, a tech related series of fiction books, musicals for schools, songs and related digital media focussed on three teen female protagonists, published under a pen name.

This cross-discipline interest resulted in me studying Songwriting, Information Technology, Creative Writing, Digital Media and Society, and Law at masters level and train in various therapeutic interventions, one being Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy.
My doctoral research at Loughborough within the School of Design and Creative Arts explores how the medium of Musical Theatre can impact young people in terms of sense of self and the lens through which they view the world, with a specific focus on empowerment, wellbeing and gender representation.

The notebook I’m holding represents the joy of sitting down with a blank page at the start of any project where the only limits are our own imagination.
