Loughborough Sport Events Team

Loughborough Sport’s Events Team are the driving force and backbone behind the successful delivery of major sporting events at the University. Most notably, in March this year, Loughborough proudly hosted BUCS Big Wednesday, one of the biggest and most prestigious fixtures in the university sport calendar. These national finals event brought 116 of the UK’s top university teams to campus to compete for Championship and Trophy titles across 16 different sports. It was a true festival of high-performance sport and a showcase of the University’s outstanding facilities, culture, and student experience.

Andy Motch

Andy Motch has demonstrated exceptional dedication and effectiveness in enabling research at the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences (SSEHS). Andy’s contributions have led to a notable step change in our relationship with sport partners, enhancing collaboration and driving forward research and innovation. His ability to build strong relationships (for example with the Global Sporting University Network) and his proactive engagement have been instrumental in advancing the school's core objectives.

Martin Foster

Martin Foster has made an exceptional and sustained contribution to the sport, health, and education sector through his leadership and innovation in developing two transformative initiatives at Loughborough University: the ‘Talk Sport Careers Fair’ and the ‘Experts in Sport podcast’. These projects have significantly enhanced student employability, public engagement with academic research, and the Loughborough university’s impact on the global sport industry.
