Enhancing Staff/Student Wellbeing & Experience
For activities that improved the health and wellbeing, and experience of the University’s staff and students.
The Safeguarding Team
The delivery of Safeguarding Training has been a truly collaborative effort that will (over the long-term) benefit the Loughborough University community. OD L&D took responsibility for driving design, development and delivery of the training, to ensure there was structure and monitoring in place, fulfilling specific OFSTED requirements, legislative staff training obligations and reducing risk both to individuals and the University.
Karen Chadwick
Karen’s open-door policy creates a sanctuary for staff from all job families, students, and doctoral researchers, delivering life-changing support to individuals facing, stress, anxiety, bereavement, family persecution, war trauma. Her expertly planned inclusive celebrations such as Chinese New Year, Eid, Nowruz, Christmas meals, annual School Away Days, bluebell walks and our Visiting Professors Forum - strengthen community bonds while ensuring every member feels valued regardless of background.
The Project Expectations Team
Dawn Matthews, Sadie Rue, Sarah Williamson and Colette Cloete have each made an outstanding contribution to enhancing staff experience and wellbeing through their leadership of the Project Expectations workstreams. These areas were central to improving how staff feel at work, whether that’s through more meaningful conversations with managers, better access to benefits schemes and values resources, or simply feeling seen, heard and valued.
Emma Nadin
The University recently announced the introduction of a Disability Passport. It provides a framework within which to discuss the employee’s health, and what adjustments can be made to assist them. Emma played an integral part in the implementation of this document and has championed the introduction of this scheme for several years. The document will have a positive impact on all current and new staff with disabilities across both campuses, improving the workplace culture by promoting a more inclusive and understanding environment.
