HR Excellence in Research (HREiR)
Loughborough University is committed to upholding the principles of the Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers.
As part of this commitment, we maintain a comprehensive Concordat Action Plan, which is periodically reviewed through the European Commission’s HR Excellence in Research Award process.
The University first received this international recognition in 2010. The award has since been successfully renewed following external reviews in 2014, 2018, 2021, and 2023, demonstrating our continued alignment with the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers. Preparations are now underway for the next renewal in 2026.
Our 2023–2026 Action Plan is publicly available below. We have also shared our proposed 2026–2029 Action Plan and accompanying Summary Report, which briefly outlines:
- What was achieved in 2023–2026
- Key findings from our evaluation
- Our priorities for 2026–2029
