Donate monthly to support Opportunity Scholarships

Alumni from around the world have been asked to contribute a monthly gift to support Opportunity Scholarships at the University.

You may have received an email or a letter from our Pro Vice-Chancellor for Education and Student Experience, Professor Sam Grogan, asking you to sign up to give a small monthly donation to contribute to scholarships.

An Opportunity Scholarship awards a student with a financial gift of £3,000 a year for three years. They are generously funded by people like you who believe in helping young people from some of the most difficult backgrounds to come to Loughborough.

As Professor Grogan outlines in his letter, these scholarships help us to take steps to level the playing field:

“Last year we funded 50 young scholars – but received 166 applications. With your help, we can do more. Just £5 a month from 50 people like you who believe in young potential can fund an entire three-year scholarship.”

Professor Grogan adds: “You may be aware just how challenging the financial landscape can now be to attend university – that’s without the additional barriers some of these young people face.

“Your regular gift would show a prospective student that there are people out there who believe in them.

“Please consider donating today and help someone to follow in your footsteps.”
