Presentation by Dr Ray Fisk, Founder and President of ServCollab

Recently, as part of the joined CSM and the Marketing & Retailing Academic Group Seminar Series, Dr Raymond P. Fisk, Founder and President of ServCollab and Emeritus Professor of Marketing at Texas State University, gave a thought-provoking presentation.

Abstract:

ServCollab is a contraction of “Serving Humanity Through Collaboration.” It is a service research organization for diagnosing and treating humanity’s service system problems (poverty, ignorance, disease, etc.). ServCollab seeks to advance the service research field via large-scale service research projects that pursue theory building, research and action.

Ray’s presentation explained how ServCollab started and why it was needed. Second, ServCollab's perspective and publications was explored. Finally, ServCollab’s ongoing efforts to build research capacity to serve humanity were summarized.

Biography:

Raymond P. Fisk is Founder and President of ServCollab (a human services nonprofit), which seeks to serve humanity through collaborative research. He is also Emeritus Professor of Marketing at Texas State University. His research focuses on services marketing, service design, and transformative service research. He has published in the Journal of Service Research, Journal of Marketing, Journal of Retailing, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, European Journal of Marketing, Journal of Public Policy and Marketing, and others. Ray has published six books including Serving Customers: Global Services Marketing Perspectives. In 1993, he founded the AMA Services Marketing Special Interest Group (SERVSIG). In 2005, Ray received the Career Contributions to the Services Discipline Award from SERVSIG. In 2012, he received the Grönroos Service Research Award from the Hanken School of Economics in Finland. In 2016, the American Marketing Association made Ray the Inaugural Recipient of the SIG Leadership Award.
