Our CNC machine tool workshops, electronics workshop, undergraduate workshops are managed by skilled technical staff, who will work closely with you to develop ideas and support project work.
Uniquely, we have extensive facilities devoted to the engineering applications of lasers, an area in which our achievements in research and teaching have been recognised by a prestigious Queen’s Anniversary Prize.
A range of purpose built laboratories covers optical measurement techniques, including machine calibration, vibration analysis and fluid flow mapping techniques and a suite of computer-controlled high power lasers, are used to research and demonstrate modern fabrication processes.
