Background
In 2009, Kumba acquired her Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone. Then in 2016, she attained her MSc in Sustainable Engineering at Loughborough University and started her PhD at Loughborough University in 2018. She served as a Programme Representative during her master's programme and is the current student representative for the High Value Research Theme.
Title of thesis: A Framework for the Repurposing of E-waste Within a Mass Manufacturing System
Her research interest is Repurposing of Electronic Waste which aims to support the transition of manufacturing practices towards a circular economy.
