Gaurav Nanajkar CEng, MIMechE
PhD Research Student
I came to UK for pursuing masters in mechanical engineering and industrial management from the University of Sheffield. After masters degree I worked in industry for 7 years under various roles like graduate mechanical engineer, mechanical design engineer and recently when I left my job I was a senior research engineer working on PEM fuel cell at Intelligent Energy, Loughborough. During my industrial experience I developed my expertise in the sector of designing, finite element analysis and computational fluid dynamics.
My interest in the research of renewable energy pulled me towards a PhD and I started my PhD from Jan 2018 at CREST for working towards research in the topic of building integrated solar thermal.
Building integrated solar thermal
At the moment I am focusing on the literature review and expected to work on the vacuum flat plate solar collectors. My research will be a combination of experimental and simulation work involving heat transfer analysis using CFD and also structural integration analysis using FEA. Results will be validated by experimental work.
