Lilly graduated from Prifysgol Aberystwyth in 2024 with a BSc in Criminology, earning the Calcott Pryce departmental award for Crime and Punishment in Historical Perspective (2024), Cybercrime and Cybersecurity (2024), Youth Crime and Justice (2023) and Police, Policing and Society (2023). In September 2025, Lilly finished her MSc in Criminology with Criminal Justice, focussing on miscarriages of justice and art and heritage Crime, the only modules of their kind in England and Wales.
As a result of her varied research interests, Lilly has written about everything from Canadian art heists, the Ashley Madison hacking scandal, and police culture in England and Wales.
Now a PhD Student in the Computer Science Department at Loughborough University, Lilly is hoping to inject her passion for criminal justice and criminology into the cybercrime space, creating solutions for cyber dependant problems based on human-oriented theory to ensure the effective application of technology.
Lilly is currently researching game-based interventions for catfishing, and is currently undergoing extensive research regarding the methods and motivations of catfish, the effective application of game-based learning and existing cyber tools that can be adapted to target specific categories of vulnerable people.
Lilly has experience proofreading assignments across disciplines, with the intention of helping to improve understanding of writing quality, the importance of epistemology and confidence when producing large written pieces of work.
Additionally, she has experience in leading critical seminars on strain theory, and public based solutions for successful heritage protection. Lilly has also won a public speaking award for her oral presentation at the 2024 DLC Student Awards at Prifysgol Aberystwyth, about the link between domestic violence rates and misogyny within the policing institution.
