Research and expertise

I completed a BA (Hons) and BArch in Architecture at the University of Manchester, qualifying as an architect in 1994. My research at Loughborough focusses on the links between policy and the use of Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) in UK housebuilding.

Current research activity

  • My PhD researches the links between policy and the use of MMC in the UK housebuilding sector

An experienced architect, covering most sectors, specialising in military and commercial simulation projects. By the age of 40, I had become a leader of one of the UK’s largest practices, with a staff of several hundred, spread over a dozen locations in the UK and overseas.

Following a move to Leicestershire in the summer of 2010 for family reasons, I entered local government in 2011, becoming Leader of one of the country’s largest district authorities, with additional roles at local, regional, and national levels.
