Alastair Cox has over forty years of experience in the synthetic sports surfacing industry. During this time, he has primarily focused on helping sports’ governing bodies set standards for sports surfaces they use, and the testing and certification of sports facilities, including Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games, and World Cup venues.

Today, he heads the Facilities and Quality Programme team at the International Hockey Federation, is Technical Director at the European Synthetic Turf Council, acts as an artificial turf consultant to FIFA, assisting with their FIFA Forward development projects around the world, and is a member of UEFA’s Stadium and Construction Experts Panel. He also chairs the British and European Standards committees responsible for sports surfacing.
