Background

First degree obtained in Aeronautical Engineering at Loughborough University followed by a PhD from Imperial College, London. Joined the Rolls-Royce UTC in Combustion Aerodynamics in 1991.

Research Interests and Activities

Working within the Rolls-Royce Combustion UTC at Loughborough University, principal research interests include the experimental investigation of flows through engine representative gas turbine combustion systems. The work also involves the design and development of complex test facilities together with the integration of dedicated control, instrumentation and data processing systems.

    • Consultant to Rolls-Royce plc.
  • Collaborative research:
    • Rolls-Royce engine projects.
    • EU - LOPOCOTEP, MUSCLES (FP4) and NEWAC (FP6).
    • UK TSB/EPSRC – SAMULET.
