In the early stage of his career, Dr Jialin Su worked in Hewlett-Packard Inc. and Seagate Technology Int., both in Singapore, as an R&D engineer in servo motor control. This was followed by a short stint at the Kingston University in London as a researcher assistant in automotive control.
In 2009, he was enrolled in the European Masters Course in Aeronautics and Space Technology (EuMAS), studying at the Technical University of Munich, Cranfield University and the German Aerospace Centre (DLR) in Göttingen. Upon completion of this masters course, Dr Su worked at Numeca International S.A. (now Cadence) in Brussels as an application engineer in CFD.
In 2012 he joined the Rolls-Royce University Technology Centre of Loughborough University to pursue a Phd degree and stayed on as a research associate in the field of gas turbines.
In 2019 he moved to the group of Prof. Aimee Morgans in the Imperial College London as a research associate for research related to thermo-acoustic instability and in the summer of 2020, Dr Su returned to Loughborough University to take up a lectureship in fluid dynamics. Currently he is supervising a Phd project on the development of high-order CFD for combustion simulation
