Technical Specialist for Computational Aerodynamics at Jaguar Land Rover

Visiting Fellow

Background:

Adrian is the Technical Specialist for Computational Aerodynamics at Jaguar Land Rover, where he is the senior technical authority for simulation based aerodynamics development.  He is responsible for current simulation methods; process improvement and new methods development; new aerodynamic concepts; defining requirements and standards; along with the overall technical development and research strategy for the aerodynamics attribute.

He gained his BSc (First) in Physics with Mathematical Sciences from Leicester Polytechnic (De Montfort University) in 1997.  This was followed by aerodynamics roles in British Rail’s Research Division and the Motor Industry Research Association (MIRA) before joining Land Rover in 2001.

He gained his EngD in 2019 from Warwick University with his thesis, ‘Vehicle Surface Contamination, Unsteady Flow and Aerodynamic Drag’ supervised by Professor Kerry Kirwan and Professor Duncan Lockerby. This provided novel insights into the unsteady aerodynamic processes responsible for rear surface soiling of bluff vehicles and developed a new computational process to allow this issue to be addressed during vehicle development.
