MEng, MRes

  • RA in Hydrogen Combustion Systems for Zero Carbon Jet Engines

Background:

Specialities:

  • Computational and experimental study of gas turbine aerodynamics and combustion system aerothermal processes

Qualifications:

  • MRes, Future Propulsion and Power, University of Cambridge, Cambridge, United Kingdom
  • MEng (hons), Aeronautical Engineering, Loughborough University, United Kingdom
  • PhD, ‘Gas Turbine Combustor Aerodynamics’, Loughborough University, (ongoing)

Research Group:

  • Applied Aerodynamics

Research Interests:

  • Combustion System Aerodynamics
  • Compressor-Combustor Interactions
  • Experimental Fluid Mechanics
  • Computational Fluid Dynamics

Current Research:

  • Computational and experimental study of the internal flows within modern gas turbines. Primarily focused on feeding multipoint lean direct injection (LDI) combustion systems with a highly uniform airflow whilst minimising pressure losses. This encompasses the compressor/combustor interface, pre-diffuser design, and combustor external aerodynamics.
