Thinking about university

Understanding UCAS

When you are ready to apply to University for an Undergraduate course, you can register on UCAS and start the application process.

You get to make five choices, which can be made up of different institutions and degree programmes. Or if you have your heart set on a specific university, you can choose multiple courses at the same institution.

The next step is to start completing the online application form. This will be broken down into sections and you don’t have to finish it all in one go. In fact, we would recommend you take a look at the questions and draft up your answers first so that you can double check for any errors. When you are filling out the online form, don’t forget to save it as you go.

A key part of the application form is your personal statement. This is your opportunity to share with your choices why you have chosen your course, why you would make an excellent student, your ambitions and skills.

We’ve broken the application process down for you and have created useful guides and videos to help support you.
