This programme analyses the entrepreneur, the innovation process and the role of financial support when creating and sustaining new entrepreneurial organisations and businesses, supporting growth and affecting innovation. This programme gives you the opportunity to explore and reflect on the skills needed for success and the role of old and new financing models in business.

Programme information

As well as the ability to set up and understand the finance models for their own venture, graduates of this programme will possess the skills to progress into large blue chip companies and work in finance management, developing new products, markets and customer segments.

Core study areas include: collaborative project; innovation management; entrepreneurship; funding;small business finance; governance for start up companies; strategy and planning; an individual project (which can be a dissertation or business plan or placement project).

Subject enhancement areas include: design thinking; media and creative industries: context and practices; media and creative industries: critical perspectives; introduction to mobile internet and media clouds; leadership models and practices; analysing the construction of leadership for a sport context.

Assessment

Modules are assessed by a combination of essays, group exercises, presentations and time constrained assignments. Subject to your choices, there may also be exams.

Entry qualification

Minimum of a lower second class honours degree from a UK university or equivalent overseas qualification recognised by Loughborough University.

English Language requirements: IELTS 6.5 overall, with a minimum of 6.0 in each subtest (Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking) or equivalent.
