To become a Student Ambassador, individuals must go through our annual recruitment cycle. This is to ensure that we get the right people for the role who are passionate about Higher Education and have the suitable skills needed excel in the role.

Key recruitment dates

Recruitment opens on 29 September at 9am and closes on 16 October at 12pm.

Expressions of interest for the next academic year may be sent to the Student Ambassador Coordinator who will put you on the email updates list.

The application process

Step 1: Read the job description and complete the online application

The online application will be available from early October.

Firstly, you will be asked to complete your personal details, including education and employment history. We will also need the details of two people we may contact to provide a reference for you, including their relationship to you. You will also be required to submit a supporting statement detailing your suitability to the job with reference to the person specification, which will part of the job description. In your answer please include examples and evidence of the skills required for the role.

Step 2: Shortlisted applicants interview

If your written application is successful, you will be invited to the second stage of the process. This will be a Video submission task, where applicants will be asked to produce a short (1/2 minute) filmed presentation on a pre-determined topic or alternatives can be discussed with the Student Engagement Coordinator after shortlisting.

Step 3: Successful applicants contacted

Once all the applications have been assesssed, students will be chosen and contacted. You will then need to sign a contract and agree to our code of conduct, sent to you by email. Following this, you will be invited to attend a compulsory training course (November).
