Access and Participation

We work with staff at the University to evaluate and monitor the impact of the University’s activities to improve the outcomes and experience for students from under-represented groups in HE.

We aim to increase the impact of the University’s access and participation activities.

Working closely with various teams from across the University including School and College Liaison, Student Success Academy, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion and more, we provide advice and support for evaluation activity and widening participation policy at all stages of the student lifecycle.

This work includes responsibility for the Access and Participation Plan, a regulatory document which shows how the University will address equality of opportunity for our students.

University staff are welcome to access further information and resources on our internal Evaluation Guidance pages.

EMWPREP

EMWPREP (the East Midlands Widening Participation Research and Evaluation Partnership) is a non-profit making collaborative partnership, with Loughborough University acting as the lead HEI and EMWPREP staff members forming part of the Access and Participation Team.

Using a bespoke database, the team store learner data, allowing partners to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of their widening participation (WP) outreach initiatives. EMWPREP also track learners through their educational lifecycle all the way into graduate employment, and provide research and evaluation services for their partners to better understand the impact of their work.
