Mathematical Sciences

About the department

The Department of Mathematical Sciences is based in the newly refurbished Schofield Building. Students have 24/7 access to computer labs in the Schofield Building and will also benefit from the co-location with the Mathematics Learning Support Centre.

The Mathematics Learning Support Centre exists in the department to provide a range of services designed to support any student at Loughborough University in their learning of mathematics or statistics. In particular, it aims to help students in the earlier stages of their studies, who might benefit from resources and tuition over and above what is normally provided as part of their programme.

The University also provides an extensive range of facilities and services to help students with all aspects of their university lives and details of some of these may be found in the Prospectus →

The wide-reaching reputation of the Department of Mathematical Sciences attracts international visitors, and both staff and students benefit from a comprehensive series of seminars, guest speakers and public lectures.
