Hemaka Bandulasena graduated with a BSc Eng. (Hons) degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. After working as a demonstrator at the same university, he moved to Sheffield University to do his PhD in microrheometry. This was followed by three years of research in the microfluidics group at Sheffield University as a post-doctoral research associate. In February 2012, Hemaka joined Loughborough University as a lecturer in Chemical Engineering and became a Senior Lecturer in 2016.
