Undergraduate study

Our courses

Our undergraduate courses offer flexibility and variety, through their mixture of core and optional modules, allowing you to tailor your degree to your interests.

Studying English at Loughborough is a great opportunity for those passionate about all aspects of language and literature. Our curriculum offers you the freedom to construct a course covering literature and language from the sixteenth century onwards, in many specialist areas and literary contexts. Many of our modules grow out of the current research interests of the academic staff, making it possible for us to introduce students to the latest thinking in areas as diverse as the staging of Shakespeare, Film Studies, the Analysis of Poetry, and Language and Society. There are also modules in Creative Writing, with support from visiting professional writers, and courses in Publishing, providing a specialised education in this subject area.
