Emma joined the UTC executive management team in December 2013 following a period of eleven years in central administrative support at Loughborough, first within the Academic Registry and then the Research Office. She assists the UTC academic leads in the policy creation, management and promotion of the UTC research group and its activities. Her main responsibilities include:

• Management of the UTC research accounts, including financial forecasting and budget control
• Sourcing funding opportunities
• Assisting with the development of research proposals, including the preparation of costs and provision of advice on appropriate funding models
• Preparation of management information and reports
• Project management and contract negotiation
• Exploring and exploiting opportunities to promote the UTC research group and its activities
• Marketing and branding opportunities
• Oversight of UTC operations in relation to staffing and resources, including supervision of the UTC Administrator & Support Administrator (UTC)

Emma also works with student services as a Deputy Community Warden
