From the outset, I was drawn to the Loughborough campus which is massive – a beautiful place full of fields, woodland and great facilities.
There's space to study and to spend time. And, over time, I've seen it get better and better – with new study and social spaces being built. Living here was a highlight of my studies.
Throughout my time here at the University, I've loved meeting so many new people, especially people in IRPH. Socialising inside and outside the classroom has been effortless because, if you're here, it means you love what you do.
While I was an undergraduate, a certain politician said he worried about Britian becoming an ‘island of strangers’. But while studying at Loughborough, it's almost impossible to avoid becoming great friends with a diverse group of people from across the world – and from so many different backgrounds – brought together through difference of ideas and shared passions.
During my studies, I really fell in love with ideas and theories. I loved exploring and applying new moral frameworks. Learning about feminist political theory was a particular highlight. The staff are really passionate and knowledgeable about their subject areas.
If I were to give someone thinking of studying here at Loughborough some advice it’d be – there is far too much to do and far too little time to do it!
You'll likely never get so much time to just spend reading and learning about your passions, but you're also going to have clubs, sports and societies to manage. You can't do everything, but don't hesitate to give something a try!
