We have eight undergraduate degree programmes, that span from core engineering science, across engineering management, through to aesthetic and ergonomic design. Some are generalist in approach providing many different career outlets, some are more industry specific.
- Computer & Electronic Engineering
- Electrical & Electronic Engineering
- Energy Engineering
- Engineering Management
- Mechanical Engineering
- Product Design Engineering
- Robotics, Mechatronics & Control Engineering
- Sports Technology
The majority of our degree programmes step up from Mathematics, Physics and/or Design & Technology A-levels (and equivalent learning) and we cater for the majority of national and international qualifications. In addition, we have a campus wide Foundation Studies route into all of our degree programmes, allowing opportunity for students who may have missed out on one or more of our pre-requisite Level 3 subjects.
All of our degree programmes travel different journeys – attracting different types of students. A key priority for us is to ensure that the student fits the degree programme – and – the degree programme fits the student.
Likewise, all of our degree programmes have opportunity to take a year-long industrial placement. This helps students to better understand how their degree programme aligns with industrial need, and helps students to better manage the later years of their degree programme.
Typically, students who complete the industrial training cope better with the third and/or fourth year of their degree programme, and stand out from the crowd when it comes to graduation and career prospects.
All of our degree programmes are accredited by various licenced professional engineering and design institutions under the UK Engineering Council AHEP regulations. This better enables graduates to achieve Chartered professional status in the fullness of time.
We hope that the Information Day provides you with a valuable perspective of the opportunities that engineering and design offer your students – allowing you to better inform and manage their aspirations.
To complement our Information Day – we have included a range of resources within these web pages. Please feel free to explore. If you have any queries – please contact the team (details at the bottom of the page).
