Levelling Up: Maths
A free maths virtual tutoring programme for A Level Maths students.
Levelling Up: STEM is an academic and pastoral support programme, supporting students from under-represented and lower socio-economic groups who are aiming to pursue the study of STEM and STEM-related subjects at university. The project has been made possible by a donation from Dr Tony Hill, a former teacher who went on to pursue a career in the software industry and who devotes much of his time in retirement to philanthropic projects linked to science and widening participation in HE.
The project has been match-funded by the Institute of Physics, the London Mathematical Society, the Royal Society of Chemistry and the Institute of Mathematics and Its Applications. Delivery material has been designed by these partners, each for their specific discipline.
Loughborough University joined the programme in 2023 and are currently recruiting our second cohort of year 12 students, with tutoring starting in April 2024.
We can offer
- an inspiring, supportive programme of maths tutoring designed by experts and delivered by our amazing team of student maths tutors from Loughborough University.
- support with navigating the university application process
- opportunities to increase attainment and confidence in maths.
