Live sessions
You do not need to book to any of the live sessions individually, simply click on the Microsoft Teams link under which event you would like to attend. All live sessions will take place in UK time (GMT).

Student, Parent and Loughborough Alumni Q&A
Meet our current students and their parents, as well as a Loughborough Alumni who graduated from the university more than 20 years ago and hear about their experience of going to university, and the impact that Loughborough University made on them!

Applying to University
Lisa Ambler, School and College Liaison Officer manager is going to present about the UCAS application. This will be an opportunity to get an insight into the different elements of a student's' application as well as receive useful hints and tips to utilise when filling out the online form.
Wednesday 30 March, 6-7pm
How can parents and guardians work with Student Support Services
Student support is an incredibly important topic for many parents and guardians, this session will give you the opportunity to learn more about how Loughborough University supports their students and ensures they have a positive experience at university! Angela Truby, the Head of Operations Student Services will be on hand to answer any of your questions!

Loughborough University Sport Presentation and Q&A
Samantha Walsh the Performance Programme Manager will give you an insight on our Loughborough University’s sport offering, from courses, to clubs, competitions to recreational sport and more! This is your opportunity to find out what is on offer for all students whilst studying for their degree.

Introduction to Student Finance and Q&A (UK student finance)
Ahmar Ehsan from Student Loans Company will be giving you an insight into the process of applying to student finance. We will also have the opportunity to hear from our current students on how they coped with their finances whilst at University

Demystifying Students' Unions and exploring the topic of moving away from home
Fresher's week, moving away from home and more! What are students' unions about and why are they an important part of a students' experience at university? Hear from our current students how they benefited from their involvement with extra-curricular activities and moving away from home to go to university!

Using Microsoft Teams
Some of our interactive sessions will be taking place on Microsoft Teams. You do not need a Microsoft account to join these sessions:
- If you are joining the event using a computer or laptop, you can find detailed information here, (we recommend using Google Chrome)
- Please see information here if you are joining from a mobile or tablet.
Links for these activities will be provided on relevant pages within the Parent and Guardian event, they will also be located on this page under the list of dates. When you click on the links, please select ‘continue on this browser’. This will enable you to enter the event as a Guest. When prompted please enter your name and enter the lobby; from here the events team will accept your arrival and you will be able to join the event. To allow time for this, please join the session a few minutes before it is due to start.
On joining the event you will have the option to turn on your webcam and microphone. You can select which webcam option you feel comfortable with. Please could we ask that you keep your microphone on mute and only unmute when invited to speak.
Please note if you are joining from a computer you may not have these options if there is not a webcam or microphone. If this is the case, you will still be able to listen to the event and you can use the chat function to ask any questions.
If you would like to ask a question during the event, you can type this in the chat section of Microsoft Teams. The event facilitator will review the question and invite you to speak at an appropriate time. Please remember to unmute your microphone when asked to speak or we will not be able to hear you.
