I had always wanted to study at Loughborough because of my passion for sports, and Loughborough has an excellent reputation for sport in the world with world-class programs, facilities and lecturers/program leaders. I felt a degree in Sports Management from Loughborough would look great on my CV given my aspirations to work in the sport sector within a commercial function.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Loughborough - I enjoyed the people I met, from my peers to the lecturers, as well as the networking opportunities throughout my degree. I particularly enjoyed the modules on Governance in sport as well as the Global Marketing in sport module, given my interests particularly lay within the business side of sport.

After graduating, I started an six-month internship, which then became a one-year fixed contract role at Formula E. I was a Business Intelligence intern, focusing on media (TV, social) insights before moving into a Commercial Insights & Strategy executive role at Formula E for a year. I then went on to work for the Premier League as a Business Development Executive.

Loughborough is an amazing university with great courses, people and lecturers, and if you want to work in sport post-university, there is no better place than Loughborough to have on your CV and open doors into the various parts of the sports sector! If I could go back in time and do it all over again, I would without hesitation.

As a student at Loughborough I recommend making use of the Master's degree library/study facility in the SSEHS building! It’s a great place to spend a couple of hours for reading course material and doing a bit of coursework. I also found it really useful to any and every networking event/opportunity that Loughborough has on offer - there are plenty throughout the academic year, and they are great for making contacts with other students who could end up in the same industry as you in the future, as well as industry professionals!

Enjoy and embrace every moment of your time as a student at Loughborough, even during the more stressful moments! Find your group
of people and friends, and make an effort to socialise - it will help you get through the more stressful periods of the year and being able to both work and play hard with your mates makes the Loughborough experience all the more enjoyable. I spent as much time with my mates in Pilkington and at the Postgraduate library as we did outside of lecturers and seminars!
