The Global Impact Scholarship is one of the many practical steps for us implementing this strategy while recognising the importance of our external influence and the impact of our actions on the world around us and the challenges that face us as a society.
Eligibility criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:
- Currently holding an offer (conditional or unconditional) for an eligible postgraduate taught programme
- Currently domiciled (permanently living) in country listed in the table below.
- Evidence of exceptional academic achievement (normally a first-class honours degree)
- Commitment to contribute to the development of your home country after graduation.*
- Full understanding of the costs involved in coming to study and live in the UK
- Evidence of strong motivation and initiative to secure funds to cover the remainder of the costs involved
- Applicants should be high calibre graduates with the personal, intellectual, and interpersonal qualities necessary for leadership and driving sustainable change within communities.
Applicants are advised to spend considerable effort ensuring that this application reaches the selectors in a form that is clear, well presented and which reflects their abilities and motivation.
*There is no expectation for you to return to your home country following graduation as part of the scholarship requirement.

How to apply
The scholarship application procedure is an open competition. Students may only apply for the scholarship after an offer for a place on one of Loughborough University’s master's programmes has been made. Students who are in possession of an offer (conditional or unconditional) of a place on a master's course can apply for the scholarship using the application form.
Applications will be initially shortlisted and the final decision on the awards will be made by a selection panel of senior staff of the university.
Application deadline
- The latest deadline to have submitted an application to study is 15 April 2026
- The deadline for applying for a Global Impact Scholarship is 6 May 2026
Scholarship announcements will be made by 1st June. Deposit payments must be paid within 14 days of receipt of scholarship offer.
Important information
Scholarship applications will not be considered unless the applicant is holding an offer or a place at the time of submission (this offer may be conditional or unconditional).
Please do not submit your scholarship application until you have received your offer letter. Applications will only be considered if all parts of the form are completed in full.
Applications received after the closing date will not be considered. All those applying will be notified of the outcome of their application by email. If your application is shortlisted, you will be given further guidelines on what will happen next.
Any award made to an applicant holding a conditional offer will be subject to those conditions being met in full. Applicants will also be expected to provide evidence of funds to cover their travel, living and maintenance costs. No deposit will be required.
