This box encourages students to think about gender equality within today’s society. Participants will explore the importance of equality and democracy within today’s society, and have the opportunity to debate their ideas through an in-class referendum.

Classroom requirements
A standard classroom is suitable for this activity – this can be scaled up for large numbers of students to participate.
Staff will need to prepare some resources in advance, cutting out ballot forms before the activity begins.
