What to expect
- Speaker sessions will each last 45 minutes and light refreshments will be provided throughout the day.
- Choose between four to five different sessions at each time slot.
- Each session is only available to view in person.
- There will be an opportunity for you to ‘meet the speaker’ and ask any questions you might have.
- Network with employers at the careers exhibition and attend a drop-in to have your CV checked. Organisations such as Adidas, BLK BOX, West Ham United FC, Lawn Tennis Association, British Rowing, and British Psychological Society will be attending.
Finalist Networking Session
Finalists (including PG) will have the opportunity to attend an exclusive Pre-Networking Session on Thursday 30 January from 10:00 – 12:30, delivered by Sue Tonks.
This highly interactive, practical and fun workshop will give you the confidence and knowledge to be able to walk comfortably into a room of strangers.
Sue will cover:
- Joining groups and people with ease - Which groups to join, avoid, and how to join.
- Understand the process of networking.
- Breaking the ice with strangers.
- Building long-lasting relationships with new and current contacts and associates.
- Developing conversation to create trust.
- Know how to answer the “What do you do?” question.
- Asking great business-related questions.
- Spotting the opportunities and dealing with them with professionalism.
- Importance of “Follow Up”.
You will receive a free breakfast cob and hot drink if you attend this session.
Once you have completed the Pre-Networking session, you will then be able to implement the lessons you have learned in a real Networking environment with major players in the Sports, Exercise and Health industry. This will take place on the same day, Thursday 30 January from 17:00 – 17:45.
Free pizza and refreshments will be available for those that attend.
Please note, you will be unable to attend the Finalist Networking Session at 17:00 if you did not attend the Pre-Networking Session at 10:00. Pre booking is essential - a max of 100 spaces are available.

- Panel session on 'What is the future of careers and leadership in Sport?' - With an all-star line up of five women leaders in sport, find out what they believe the future needs of the workforce will be in terms of skills, competencies, and behaviours for getting into, and pursuing a career within sport. They will also discuss their experiences of leading a past and present workforce, and what lessons have been learnt around how to lead in the current and future sporting landscape.
