Thanks for registering for A Simple Introduction to Python

The course runs from Wednesday 11 November to Friday 13 November, 2026 between 10am and 2pm.

You can join the course on Microsoft Teams. The same Teams link, Meeting ID and Passcode will be used on all three days. Your attendance and participation will be monitored.

About the workshop

The main objective of this workshop is to introduce delegates to programming using Python. Participants will be introduced to Python and a number of platforms to perform the computations.

Delegates can download software onto their own computers or use cloud computing, where no software needs to be downloaded onto your computer.

By attending the course, participants will:

  • Learn how to use Python as a powerful calculator
  • Learn how to programme with Python
  • Produce figures and animations 
  • Write professional notebooks
  • Incorporate programming into research and dissertation 

The course is open to prospective students, alumni and all current students and staff at Loughborough University no matter what discipline you study, which campus you are based at, or what department.
