Enterprise and Business Support

Students and Graduates: Whilst you’re studying and working remotely from Loughborough during this testing time, it’s business as usual for Loughborough Enterprise Network (LEN). You can access our Enterprise and Business Support remotely - whatever your needs, LEN and the wider Careers Network are here for you.

Much of our support and any information you need with regards to our services can be found here on our website.

However, we’d like to highlight the following opportunities and key pages that you can access in the meantime to find out more:

*

For 1-2-1 Enterprise and Business Support (with Advisor)

Our 1-2-1 support and advice will still be available to you via phone call, video call, Facebook chat and / or email over coming months.

To request an appointment, please fill in the form here: bit.ly/len121

We will then send you a link to self-book an appointment with the relevant advisor via Careers Online.

An automatic calendar request will go to the relevant staff member and they will be in touch to confirm the means through which your appointment will take place and any preparation to do in advance.

*

Online Resources

You can also access our general resources online here. These have been updated to include extra support such as access to our recent 8-week email programme for ‘Getting your Business Online’.

If you’re not sure where to start with our resources, we’d recommend starting with our Business Model Canvas – complete this and share with your relevant advisor via email in preparation for your 1-2-1 appointment as this is a quick and efficient way for us to see where you are at and what Enterprise and Business Support you may need from us as part of our work with you remotely.

*

The Start-Up Fund – up to £5000 for developed ideas and support to cover one-off, business crucial development and equipment costs that would propel your business to the next level.

This is open to students at both Loughborough and Loughborough University London, plus graduates within 2 years of graduation.

For more information on how to apply, key dates to work towards (next round’s deadline is May 2020), plus our criteria and Terms and Conditions, please click here.

As a first step, you should read through all information provided as well as the Start-Up Fund Briefing slides that are now available on the page.

Submit the Expression of Interest form and share this with the relevant Advisor when you are ready. Details of who to share this with can be found on the form.

*

Start-Up Visa

If you are interested in applying for the Start-Up Visa, please review the information provided on our website and submit the Expression of Interest Form accordingly to Startupvisa@lboro.ac.uk.

These will be reviewed as per our two rounds for this from June onwards. Rest assured that we will receive anything you send to us, but you may not hear from us regarding next steps until closer to the summer.

*

The Studio

If you’d like to know more about our Graduate accelerator programme for you and your business, The Studio, and how you can apply for this in our next round (as a finalist or current graduate), you can find more information in the link provided above. The next round will open in June / July 2020 with a view to our next cohort beginning on the programme in September / October 2020.

Please contact The.Studio@lboro.ac.uk for more information on this specifically and to express your interest.
