Considering your Idea with the Business Model Canvas...

If you have a business idea that you'd like to get started post-graduation, we'd recommend that you start with our Business Model Canvas template.

This will help you map out every aspect of your business or idea to check it's possible.

You can then submit it to us (via LEN@lboro.ac.uk) for an initial 1-2-1 appointment with an appropriate Enterprise Adviser (see below in 'Developing your Start-Up' section).

Please note: 1-2-1 appointments with our Enterprise Adviser will take place once a month and you should have completed and shared a Business Model Canvas with us and given them time to review it prior to this being booked in.

To support you in getting started with your idea post-graduation, we're compiling stories, experiences and top tips, in the form of blogposts and student and graduate-led content, from those in our network.

These stories and tips will provide some useful context, inspiration and guidance on transitioning from a Finalist to Graduate post-university in relation to Business and Enterprise.

Pitching Yourself Well (some useful slides)

Pitching yourself well, whether in a job role, interview, competition or business context is a key skill to learn and develop post-graduation.

Over the coming weeks, we'll be recording an online workshop on this very topic that you'll be able to access from here so do look out for news of this going live soon!

We'll also be launching a weekly online email course on the subject so that you can receive key advice and support on 'Pitching' direct to your inbox, preparing you to practice as part of our own competitions and funding applications when you are ready.

In the meantime, though, what not check out these useful slides on 'Pitching Yourself Well' to get yourself thinking about this as part of developing your business, idea or skillset along the way?

Market Research (some useful slides)

Market Research, testing and validation of a business proposition, model, idea, product or service is something that many budding entrepreneurs overlook. However, it's a crucial stage in any business or entrepreneur's journey - in order to ensure that the product or service they are putting out into the world will result in interest, traction, customers and sales.

Over the coming weeks, we'll be recording an online workshop on this very topic that you'll be able to access from here so do look out for news of this going live soon!

In the meantime, though, why not check out these useful slides on 'A Slice of the Market Pie' for an introduction that will get you thinking about this as part of developing your business or idea along the way?

We'd also recommend giving The Mom Test and Launch a read if you can, too - to prepare yourself for what's to come as you move to develop your business or idea further!
