Welcome to Robert Bakewell

Located in the student village, Robert Bakewell hall is only a 5-minute walk from the library, a 5-minute walk from the EHB bar and a 10-minute walk to the Students' Union. The hall is named after Robert Bakewell who was an eighteenth-century agriculturalist from nearby Dishley Grange.

Rag Representative

(2 positions available) Responsible for coordinating fundraising activities within the Hall and engaging students in LSU RAG events. Key duties include encouraging maximum Hall engagement in RAG initiatives, planning and delivering hall-specific RAG events, attending RAG meetings and ensuring timely submission of funds raised to the RAG Office.

Kashuf Rehman

I’d love to run for RAG Rep because I believe fundraising works best when it feels like a shared effort, something the whole Hall can get behind and enjoy! Over the past few months, I’ve raised over £500 (and counting) for my Guides international trip, and that experience has shown me how to plan events, motivate people, and keep momentum going. Through a bunch of past roles I’m used to organising groups, communicating clearly, and creating an environment where everyone feels thrilled to get involved.

If elected, I will make sure to bring high-energy, inclusive fundraising events to our Hall that appeal to a wide range of students, but also carry clear communication and reliable follow through to ensure every penny raised goes straight to the amazing cause it's behind. I'd love to create a culture where fundraising is fun, social, and something we can genuinely take pride in together, cementing Bakewell as a group which creates impact in our community!

Anya Frazer

Hi I'm Anya and I want to apply for RAG because I belive that fundraising should be just as enjoyable as it is beneficial. At University I believe community is fundamental to the experience and RAG can facilitate this. If selected, I want to organise inclusive, enjoyable and impactful events that people will actually want to engage with such as collaborations with other halls and memorable socials. I want to ensure transparency about finances and involve the hall with choosing where the money goes as I believe its important to feel connected with where your moneys going. I'm organised and proactive which I belive is essential for fundraising. Most importantly I want bakewell to feel proud of what is achieved together by making a communal impact on causes that mean the most to us.

Katie Liles

Hi, my name’s Katie and I’m applying to be a RAG Rep for 2026/27.

I have gained strong fundraising experience through my home netball club and by raising money for the Futuresense charity to support my trip this summer. These experiences helped me develop organisation, teamwork, and communication skills, and showed me how impactful fundraising can be. As RAG Rep, I’d love to build on Noah and Nina’s great work by organising fun and inclusive events throughout the year, such as quizzes, bingo nights, and sports tournaments. I would be also open to suggestions and feedback to ensure events are enjoyable and accessible for everyone.

Thank you for considering my application!
