Research your career options
Learning about different opportunities is an important stage in your career decision making. Our resources will help you to consider your likes, strengths and values and will encourage you to explore career options.
Find jobs
Careers Network provides advice and links to further sources of information to help you Get Placements, Internships and Graduate Roles.
Explore Loughborough's Careers Network Talent Match programme; paid, short-term opportunities in the UK and abroad, created exclusively for Loughborough students.
You can also apply directly for jobs via Loughborough's online system Target Connect.
If your master’s degree is related to a specific profession then it is a good idea to use professional associations to better understand your field and link up with employers. Look at the job profiles on the prospects website to see which professional associations are linked to your career area.
Meet employers
Careers Network organises many events on campus where you can meet employers.
Watch out for our Autumn Careers Fair in October and our Spring Careers Fair in February.
Some of these fairs may seem targeted at undergraduate students, but don’t let this stop you from attending. Many employers welcome applications from postgraduates students. Meeting employers face to face is an excellent opportunity to better understand their work culture, values and the opportunities they offer. Alongside large, well-known organisations there will be smaller business attending that you might never have considered.
Make applications
Our resources support you through every stage of the application process. We can help you to prepare your CV and covering letter and assist you with writing effective, tailored applications.
Employers often use psychometric tests as part of the recruitment process. You can prepare for these using our online tools (log in using your Lboro user name and password.)
When you get an interview be sure to book in for interview coaching with one of our careers coaches. This can make a real difference to your confidence and performance.
Access support for international students
If you are studying here from another country we have careers support tailored for international students. You might find the information about visas and immigration particularly helpful. Our International Futures programme includes events and sessions especially for international students, so watch out for these throughout the year.
Get careers helps if you are not on campus
Most of our appointments are available via Telephone or MS Teams, so to speak to a member of the Careers Network team remotely you can book an appointment.

From inspired idea to the next big business start-up, we support master's students on their business journeys by providing valuable opportunities to develop a highly desirable, entrepreneurial mindset.
