Breakfast Study Cafes

Breakfast Study Cafes are here to help you set aside time to study and increase your productivity whilst on campus. During these sessions, you'll focus on work you need to complete, co-working alongside other students. You'll work in 25-minute chunks, followed by a 5-minute break (called the Pomodoro technique). Working in this way helps you feel accountable to stay focused on your work - particularly helpful if you struggle with being distracted by notifications!

Personal Best

Stand out with the Personal Best Award: record your experiences, evidence your skills to employers, get the award on your degree transcript

Personal Best is a skills development programme, designed to help you become more successful in your academic life and future careers.  You will be introduced to this as soon as you start at Loughborough.

The Personal Best app includes tools to assess your skill levels in 15 areas and provides a platform to set goals to develop these skills. It also provides an array of learning resources to support you, covering topics ranging from managing your money, to being more sustainable.

You can complete any of our 15 badges, all centred around developing and evidencing important academic, professional, and personal skills, such as digital success, creativity and leadership. If you complete 4 badges, you will receive the Personal Best Award which will feature on your degree transcript when you complete your course. This is a great way to show employers how you have enhanced your skills at university and will look great on your CV and LinkedIn profile!
