Living Without Abuse

Living Without Abuse (LWA) is a voluntary organisation that works throughout Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland. We provide support, advice, and advocacy to anyone experiencing domestic abuse. For more information about their services click here.

LWA run on campus the Sexual violence recovery toolkit (SVRTK) this is a female only group for students who have been subjected to rape or sexual assault and have chosen not to report to the police. The group will start on 21st January 2026, and will run for 12 weeks.

Amber Project Support Sessions

On a monthly basis the Amber Project, the Sexual Abuse service for Living Without Abuse will be on campus. These are booked via the university to confirm the dates and room, the session will be from 11am-1pm. Students can book an appointment online. This is a session that will allow you to speak to a worker: to seek advice, seek some guidance/support, make a disclosure, discuss support options, discuss reporting to the police, wish to look at accessing support or any other queries relating to sexual abuse/violence.
