February may be short, but it is rich with focus and connection. With coursework intensifying, the library transforms into a hub of purposeful reading; journal articles, textbooks, and research materials line the desks. At the same time, the library also creates space for balance by hosting an extensive Leisure Collection that students can contribute towards by making suggestions.
February is also a great time to explore collections related to history, culture, and social awareness. By combining focused academic reading with opportunities to connect through shared reading experiences, the library supports both intellectual growth and student wellbeing during one of the busiest parts of the semester.
February – Library Reading Party
Date: Wednesday 11th February 2026
Time: 6pm-8pm
Location: Pilkington Library, Loughborough Campus
The reading party invites students to bring their own books and read together in a relaxed, welcoming space. There is no required discussion, no deadlines, and no expectations—just quiet companionship and the comfort of knowing others are reading alongside you. For many students, this event helps reduce academic stress while building a sense of community.
