You could save a life. Sign up to the stem cell register.
We’re calling on current Loughborough University students to sign up to and give blood cancer patients the best chance of finding a lifesaving match in the future.
Did you know? Over 4,000 Loughborough University students have already signed up to the stem cell register – Ready to donate their stem cells to a patient in need.
Meet Callum. Callum joined the stem cell register in 2018 and went on to donate his stem cells to save a life in 2021. “I'd encourage any Loughborough Student to sign up like I did, because it takes literally five minutes to register and means you can be part of something bigger - Knowing that you have made a difference in someone's life is one of the most fulfilling feelings in the world, which for me and you, starts with five minutes on campus.”
Anthony Nolan and Marrow volunteers will be on campus signing people up to the stem cell register. It takes 10 minutes to sign up and be ready to save a life.

How do I sign up?
It’s simple to join – Simply fill in an application form on your device and do a cheek swab (Our volunteers will talk you through it step by step). If you ever come up as a match for someone with blood cancer, Anthony Nolan will get in touch and organise the whole thing.
There are two ways you might be asked to donate:
- 90% of people donate via their bloodstream in a straightforward process, called peripheral blood stem cell (PBSC) collection.
- 10% have their stem cells collected via their bone marrow while under general anaesthetic.
Either way, you’ll know you’ve done something amazing and potentially saved a life.
Can’t make it?
You can sign up online at AnthonyNolan.org/LoughboroughMarrow
I’d like to do more to help!
