Welcome to Loughborough University!

I am delighted that you have decided to join our amazing community, and I am sure that you will have an enjoyable and fulfilling career at Loughborough.

We have developed this website to give you and your department guidance on the sorts of things you will need to know as part of your induction to Loughborough.  Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or would like any further support.

I wish you all the best, and look forward to working with you – Adèle

Your Induction

Your induction period will be coordinated within your school or professional service to ensure you receive all of the specific information relevant to your particular role and working environment. It is the responsibility of your line manager to plan a thorough and structured induction programme to sufficiently introduce you to your role, colleagues and the wider university. We want new starters to make the most of their induction periods.  Therefore you are encouraged to take an active role in your induction; asking quesitons and raising any concerns as and when they may arise.

Throughout your induction there are a number of training courses you will need to complete. These, along with other elements contribute to the completion of your probation period. For more information on this please take a look at our probation period page.

Line managers and other staff members responsible for inductions are invited to take a look at our induction resources page to assist in planning effective inductions.
