Chelsie holds a BA (Hons) in Psychology from Bishop Lincoln University, and an MSc in Sport and Exercise Psychology from Loughborough University. She is a PhD researcher at Loughborough University, where she is funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC). She is also a Sport and Exercise Psychologist in Training with the British Psychological Society (QSEP), working in both private practice and through Loughborough Applied Psychology Service (LAPS).
Chelsie’s doctoral research is titled The Injury Recovery-M.E. Project and explores the links between injury, rehabilitation, mental health, and eating behaviours. It aims to bridge the gap between research and applied sport psychology practice, improving understanding of how mental wellbeing and eating behaviours interact throughout injury rehabilitation, while developing insights from both athlete and practitioner perspectives.
Chelsie’s particular research interests are into sports injury, rehabilitation, athlete mental health, and eating behaviours. Her applied sport psychology interests closely align with these areas, within injury and rehabilitation settings with injured athletes and rehabilitation practitioners. She also has an interest in equestrian and football, particularly in supporting junior athletes.
