Profile
Arthur studied for his undergraduate degree (BSc) in Computer Science at Aberystwyth University. After graduating, he joined the Royal Navy, serving as a helicopter pilot flying Merlin Mk1/2 aircraft. After leaving the Navy, he returned to software development, specialising in health informatics and mHealth technology.
Having identified a gap in the practical, long-term management of energy balance, Arthur began developing solutions to address it. This work led to the creation of the Twists app - an AI coaching platform that helps users set, track, and achieve various goals, including managing energy balance with minimal input and effort.
Arthur is now combining his diverse skill set to support the research and development of the next generation of mHealth technologies while undertaking a part-time PhD at Loughborough University. His research focuses on novel simulation modelling that predicts energy balance and body composition over decades, incorporating life events, behavioural disruptors, and physiological feedback mechanisms - offering new insight into when, why, and how fat gain occurs across the human lifespan.
